1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and session identifiers. This Policy explains how Messageroots uses them on our marketing website and related pages.
2. Why we use cookies
- Keep the site secure and working (load balancing, preference storage)
- Remember your cookie choices
- Understand which pages help visitors (with consent)
- Measure campaigns if you allow marketing cookies
3. Types of cookies
Necessary (always active)
Required for core functions: security, consent storage, basic navigation. These do not require consent under most frameworks, but we still explain them here.
Analytics (optional)
Help us see aggregate traffic and improve content. Used only if you Accept All or enable Analytics in Customize.
Marketing (optional)
Used for measuring ads or remarketing if we run campaigns. Off by default until you opt in.
4. Your choices
When you first visit, a banner appears with:
- Accept All — necessary + analytics + marketing
- Reject All — necessary only
- Customize — choose analytics / marketing, then Save preferences
Your choice is stored in the browser (local storage key mr_cookie_consent_v1). To change later, clear site data for this domain or contact us and we can guide you to reset the banner.
You can also block cookies in your browser settings; some site features may then not work correctly.
5. Application cookies / sessions
The Messageroots app (app.messageroots.com) uses session and security cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in, protect CSRF, and operate queues/inbox features. Those are described further in our Privacy Policy and are not controlled by the marketing-site consent banner.
6. Updates & contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices change. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
